Biographical

Shareholder and litigation partner in multi-faceted litigation firm handling cases involving professional liability, products liability, construction defect, contractual disputes, complex commercial and banking issues, and significant injury.  Florida Bar board certified civil trial lawyer since 2006 with more than forty cases tried to verdict.  Certified mediator since 1997 in complex cases involving professional liability issues, products liability, automobile negligence, commercial claims, contracts, construction, and banking issues.  Active in equine community representing farm owners, breeders, and trainers in administrative hearings, mortality claims, and contractual matters.  Lead counsel for the Ferrero family in wrongful death claim against Shands and the University of Florida which led to the establishment of the Sebastian Ferrero Foundation, a coordinated project between the family and university devoted to patient safety issues and the construction of a full service children's hospital.  Represented the US University Athletic Association in wrongful death case involving death of college football player.  Assist our other regional offices in toxic tort (asbestos) cases and significant mediations.  Lead defense counsel for manufacturing defendant in almost month long trial (02/13) in which asbestos defense client received a defense verdict.  Most recently defended auto accident case involving catastrophic injuries and kept damages below $3 million despite economic damages and future medicals exceeding six million dollars.  Lead plaintiff's counsel in numerous medical malpractice cases resulting in substantial settlements for clients.
