David has 33 years of civil litigation experience that started in Tallahassee. He came to Tallahassee from Michigan, where he attended Eastern Michigan University and graduated magna cum laude in 1985. He then attended Florida State University College of Law, graduating with high honors in 1989. He started his legal career at a large Tallahassee law firm where his work included complex federal and state civil litigation.

He moved to the Tampa Bay area when he was presented with an opportunity to work for a firm that handled defense and some plaintiffs’ personal injury work. He continued to work in the greater Tampa Bay area as a trial attorney for 16 years. David moved back to Tallahassee in 2006 and has been a trial attorney, until his decision to move into dispute resolution. During more than three decades as a trial attorney, he has handled primarily personal injury and liability matters of all types—including wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases—as well as insurance disputes. Most of his litigation experience has been in the Tampa Bay, Panhandle, and Big Bend areas of Florida.

David has a wide array of life experiences outside of the law, including growing up as the son of a father who was a teacher and coach, and a mother who worked in government service. He learned discipline as a scholarship college track athlete and later taught discipline and teamwork as a track coach. He is also a musician and active member of a band. These as well as many other life experiences have shaped his ability to relate to people of all walks of life.

In David’s legal practice, he has earned a reputation of being detail-oriented and prepared. He brings that attention to detail, significant litigation and trial experience, the ability to connect with people from a variety of backgrounds, and his appreciation of the certainty and control of outcomes and costs that mediations and settlement conferences provide, to his full-time practice as a mediator with MC Mediations, LLC.

David is certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Circuit Civil Mediator. He looks forward to working as a neutral to help you resolve litigation, claims, or disputes.
