Biographical
Ben Newman has practiced civil litigation throughout Florida for over 25 years, representing clients in medical malpractice, nursing home, transportation liability, insurance coverage, premises liability, and general liability cases. In addition, he has served as a mediator and arbitrator, providing alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services to attorneys and their clients, for over 15 years.
As a highly-experienced trial attorney, Ben has represented clients primarily in cases involving claims of significant injuries, wrongful death, and high dollar damages. He brings his experience and wisdom gained in the courtroom to his full-time ADR practice with Newman ADR.
Most recently, Ben was a partner with a prominent national law firm. With his experience in working in local, statewide, and national law firms, Ben understands the challenges and potential risks attorneys and their clients face in litigation. Ben has litigated and tried cases in all geographic regions of the state, from the Florida Panhandle to the Florida Keys, and he continues to provide statewide ADR services.
As an ADR professional, Ben is able to effectively work with parties and counsel to seek ultimate resolution of matters without the need for trial. As a mediator, he is persistent and focused in his efforts to assist in helping participants find common ground. As an arbitrator, he is respectful of the parties and process and deliberative in reaching a decision.
Ben speaks conversational Spanish.
